A Roanoke Valley family business is seeing strong early success after investing $2 million to open a new convenience store and fuel station serving the Melrose-Rugby community. Opened in April 2022, Chester’s Shell Station on 10th Street Northwest was developed in response to a major road modernization project that removed a former convenience store from the area. Owner Saef Khawaja says the location is already delivering “phenomenal” results and reflects the family’s commitment to meeting the everyday needs of the neighborhood.
